Is the wife considered divorced if her husband said to her: "If you leave the house, you are divorced," intending to threaten her and prevent her from leaving during a problem, and then she returned and did not leave the house at that moment, and after reconciliation, he allowed her to leave, so she left?

The wife's departure from the home, after her divorce has been made conditional upon it, results in the divorce taking effect according to the majority of scholars, in contrast to Ibn Taymiyyah, who holds that it does not take effect if the husband merely intended to threaten. If the husband's intention was to prevent his wife from leaving out of fear for her safety from harm, then divorce does not occur by her departure. An angry person is accountable unless he has lost consciousness, and care should be taken to maintain a good marital relationship.
