What is the significance of the phenomena that the wife used to see while awake, such as bright light, hanging lanterns, seeing the word "Allah" (God) or the declaration of faith (Kalimat al-Tawhid) in the clouds, and seeing the Kaaba, in addition to her dream of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, pouring Zamzam water on her, knowing that these experiences have now ceased?

We hope that what happened to your wife is one of the miracles (karamat) of the righteous saints of Allah, especially her seeing the Kaaba and the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, in a dream. Seeing these things is entirely good. It has been authentically reported from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "Whoever sees me in a dream has seen me in a state of wakefulness, for Satan cannot impersonate me." This applies if the person sees him in his known form. We advise this sister and others to fear Allah and follow the Sunnah of His Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, for the greatest miracle (karamah) is steadfastness (istiqamah) and adherence to the Sunnah. The difference between a miracle (karamah) and a deception (istidraj) is that the recipient of a miracle is steadfast upon Allah's law and follows the Sunnah, whereas the one being deceived is a person of disobedience and innovation.
