Which is more preferable in terms of prolonging and greater in reward: the Tahajjud prayer or the Fajr prayer, when one is fatigued after performing the night vigil?

1. Congregational prayer in the mosque is obligatory, and it is not permissible to miss it except for a valid excuse.

2. Night prayer (Qiyam al-Layl) is among the best supererogatory acts, but the benefit of a supererogatory act does not take precedence over an obligatory one.

3. Performing obligatory acts is the most beloved deed to Allah, and supererogatory acts come as a complement to obligatory ones.

4. Umar ibn al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, said: "To attend Fajr prayer in congregation is more beloved to me than to stand in prayer for an entire night."

5. A Muslim should sleep early, then wake up before Fajr to pray as much as he wishes, and then go to the mosque for Fajr prayer, being alert.

6. If an Imam has a choice between prolonging the night prayer or prolonging the Fajr prayer (as an Imam), he should prolong the Fajr prayer because it is obligatory and carries greater reward.

7. Whoever prays Isha in congregation is as if he stood in prayer for half the night, and whoever prays Fajr in congregation is as if he prayed the entire night.

8. Balancing deeds is better than neglecting some of them.
