Is it more proper for a girl's father to help her with the costs of her marriage, or to pay money for 'Umrah and repeated Hajj?

The father should not delay his daughter's marriage if she is capable of preparing herself, even simply, and he is not obligated to equip her. If the father cannot combine helping his daughter marry and performing Hajj, then assisting his daughter with marriage and completing it takes precedence over a supererogatory Hajj, especially if postponing the marriage would harm her or risks the engagement being dissolved, and she is in need of marriage. This is for several reasons, among them: transitive acts of closeness [to Allah] are better than intransitive ones, and charity to the needy is better than a supererogatory Hajj. These texts indicate the preference for helping a girl with Hajj due to the charity and kinship involved, and because delaying marriage might lead to significant harms.
