Will the sinner who repents sincerely be punished in the grave and on the Day of Judgment?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

If a servant repents with sincere and heartfelt repentance, Allah forgives his sins and transforms his evil deeds into good deeds. This is due to Allah's promise to accept the repentance of those who repent, as He says: "And it is He who accepts repentance from His servants." And it is stated in the Hadith Qudsi: "O son of Adam, as long as you invoke Me and hope in Me, I will forgive you for what you have done, and I do not care," and "O son of Adam, were you to come to Me with sins nearly as great as the earth, and then you meet Me, not associating anything with Me, I would come to you with forgiveness nearly as great as it." Moreover, sincere repentance erases the sin, so the servant will not be held accountable for it, neither in his grave nor in the Hereafter, as mentioned in the hadith of the believer who approaches his Lord, and Allah covers him and forgives his sins.
