Is it permissible for a man to marry a woman with whom he committed adultery while she was married and then during her iddah, given their repentance, or is she forbidden to him forever?

If a man and a woman repent sincerely for the indecency they committed, and the woman has cleansed her womb (ensuring she is not pregnant), then there is no impediment to their marriage. However, for the marriage of an adulteress to be permissible for someone who knows of her adultery, it is stipulated that her iddah (waiting period) must have expired and she must have repented from adultery. If these two conditions are met, then her marriage becomes permissible for the adulterer and others, and this is the view of the majority of scholars.
