What are the problems associated with deviation?

Deviation has causes and manifestations. Its causes include poverty, family breakdown, bad company, mistreatment by parents, watching crime and sex films, unemployment, high dowries, and magazines and newspapers that display images of women. As for its manifestations, they include academic failure, theft, turning away from religion, aversion to righteous people, drug and alcohol abuse, fornication, and deviant thoughts. Hostile entities such as Jews, Masonic organizations, and Crusaders are responsible for spreading deviation among Muslim youth. The cure for deviation lies in adhering to Islam and Islamic upbringing, for neglecting the education of children corrupts them, as Ibn al-Qayyim said.
