What is the ruling on ablution during ghusl in the Hanafi school of thought?

Ablution during ghusl (ritual bath) for janabah (state of ritual impurity) is a Sunnah according to the Hanafis. This was mentioned by Al-Kasani in Bada'i' Al-Sana'i', who cited as evidence the hadith of Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, performed ablution as he would for prayer, except for washing his feet, when he performed ghusl for janabah.
