Is it necessary to postpone the engagement and wedding hall reservation, which was booked before the grandfather's death, out of consideration for social customs and values?

There is no religious obligation to postpone a wedding after a death, as there is no prohibition against holding celebrations a certain period after a death. Mourning for a deceased person, other than a husband, does not exceed three days, based on the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "It is not lawful for a woman who believes in Allah and the Last Day to mourn for a dead person for more than three days, except for her husband, for whom she should mourn for four months and ten days." However, if holding the celebration during that period would lead to the severance of family ties or the fragmentation of the family, it is preferable to postpone it to avert such harms, while striving to guide and educate them that customs that prolong the period of mourning are contrary to religious law.
