The father is obligated to pay the blood money (diyya) for the deceased or compensation for the financial damage caused by the car accident if he was negligent or careless in safety procedures or in avoiding the accident. The blood money would be borne by his 'Aqilah (male relatives responsible for paying blood money). However, nothing is binding upon him if he was not negligent or careless.
