Is it permissible to work in medical laboratories that extensively use alcohol in their work?

It is permissible to use alcohol if it has transformed and lost its intoxicating property, or if it is of a type that is not intoxicating to begin with. As for intoxicating alcohol, it is not permissible to use it in the manufacture of medicines or other products, except in cases of extreme necessity where no alternative exists, as Allah the Almighty says: "And He has already explained to you what He has forbidden to you, except for that which you are compelled to." Similarly, it is not permissible to work in laboratories that use alcohol, except in cases of necessity. One must fear Allah in seeking sustenance, for whoever gives up something for the sake of Allah, Allah will compensate him with something better.
