Is it permissible to place shoes on the mosque carpet under the pretext that the doer is an old man, and should he be blamed?

A man is permitted to enter the mosque with his shoes and place them on its carpet if they are clean and do not soil the mosque's carpet, especially if he is unable to place them in the designated shoe area due to his weakness and old age. He should not be blamed; rather, he should be treated with kindness and assisted, as honoring the elderly and respecting their rights are among the acts encouraged by Islamic law. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "He is not one of us who does not have mercy on our young ones and does not recognize the honor of our elders." Praying in shoes is permissible. However, it is not permissible to enter carpeted mosques with shoes if doing so causes damage or defilement to them. One should ensure their shoes are clean and purify them before entering the mosque.
