Did the angels burn the wife of Prophet Lot (peace be upon him)?

Lot's wife was an unbeliever, and therefore, her companionship with Allah's Prophet Lot, peace be upon him, did not benefit her. She was afflicted by Allah's punishment along with her people. The Holy Quran mentions that she betrayed her husband. Details of her demise indicate that she walked with Lot, peace be upon him, when he left the village, but she turned back when she heard the sound of the torment, whereupon a stone struck and killed her.
