The Sunnis believe that the Holy Quran is safe from alteration, change, कमी, and addition. They consider the assertion of any such thing to be an affront to Allah Almighty's promise: "Indeed, it is We who sent down the Dhikr (the Quran), and indeed, We will be its Guardian." They also believe that the suspicion of the Companions altering the Quran is an affront to Allah and His Messenger, as it is inconceivable that Allah would support His Prophet with a group of traitors. They hold that the religion reached us only through the Companions, so whoever slanders them has slandered the entire religion. Therefore, whoever claims that the Quran has been altered is a disbeliever, and whoever says something that leads to misleading the Ummah is a disbeliever. The Sunnis have written numerous works on this matter. Muslims have unanimously agreed that the recited and written Quran is the word of Allah, and whoever intentionally omits a letter from it, changes it, or adds to it is a disbeliever. There is no disagreement among Muslims regarding the disbelief of whoever denies a surah, a verse, a word, or a universally agreed-upon letter from the Quran. The Quran has not been changed, altered, diminished, or increased, and it was compiled in the presence and with the consensus of the Companions. The claim that affirming abrogation is an alteration is due to ignorance and whims. Whoever claims that there are authentic narrations in Sunni books indicating the alteration of the Quran is a liar. If there are any narrations indicating alteration among the Sunnis, they are false and rejected, and the Sunnis have ruled that whoever believes them is a disbeliever.
