Who was the first messenger? And who is the father of the Arabs?

The first of the Messengers is Adam, peace be upon him. Allah revealed to him and taught him all the names, and commanded him with a law which he taught to his children and they acted upon it. As for the Arabs, they are divided into ‘Aribah (Qahtanis) and Musta’ribah (Adnanis), and all of them trace their lineage back to Sam ibn Noah, peace be upon him.
