Is it permissible to take a commission or a sum of money from companies in exchange for awarding them contracts or expediting certain procedures, knowing that there are material temptations at work and that loans are usurious in my country?
An employee taking commissions or similar payments for their obligatory work is considered a forbidden bribe. It is not permissible to yield to financial temptations, even if the salary is small, for Allah blesses the little that is lawful and obliterates the much that is unlawful. The injustice of the employer does not justify committing forbidden acts, and patience is required. Whoever gives up something for the sake of Allah, He will compensate them with something better. One can search for another lawful job with a higher salary.
