Does water entering the anus during istinja' (washing after defecating) break the fast?

Water entering the anus during (cleaning after defecation) does not invalidate the fast, because it is not eating or drinking, nor does it carry their meaning. Similarly, an enema and ajiil (suppository) do not invalidate the fast. It is advised not to be excessive and intentionally introduce water under the pretext of increasing purity, as this is blameworthy extremism in Islamic law.
