Was the deceased father required to fast two months as expiation for accidentally killing a child, and are his children required to fast or feed the poor on his behalf?

If the father's negligence caused the death of the child riding with him, expiation (kaffarah) and blood money (diyah) are incumbent upon him. Since the child's guardians pardoned the blood money, only the expiation remains upon him, which is the freeing of a believing slave. If he cannot find one, then it is fasting for two consecutive months. It is permissible to fast on behalf of the deceased for the expiation of killing under certain conditions. There is no feeding of the poor (it'am) in the expiation for killing according to the majority of scholars.
