Does the reward mentioned in the hadith: "Whoever bathes and washes on Friday..." include women?

The encouragement mentioned in the hadith (definition) includes both men and women, because the word "man" [whoever] denotes generality. Scholars have stipulated the inclusion of women in the virtue of performing ghusl (definition) for Jumu'ah and attending it. Al-Ayni said: "It includes, by its generality, everyone for whom approximation [to God] is valid, whether male or female." Similarly, scholars have stipulated the desirability of ghusl for women if they attend Jumu'ah. Al-Nawawi said: "The correct view is that it - meaning ghusl for Jumu'ah - is recommended for everyone who attends Jumu'ah, whether male or female."
