What is the ruling of Islamic law on retracting an oath of triple divorce, which a husband swore regarding his children not completing their studies in his home, and he is now regretful of that?

If a husband swears by triple divorce that his children will not complete their studies in his house, he will not break his oath if they complete them in another house. And if the reason that led him to take the oath ceases to exist, he will not break it if they complete their studies in his house. However, if his children complete their studies in his house and the reason has not ceased to exist, then divorce occurs according to the majority of scholars. Ibn Taymiyyah holds the view that an expiation for breaking an oath is due if he did not intend divorce, and a single divorce if he did intend it. The solution is that the children should not complete their studies in the husband's house if the reason has not ceased to exist.
