What is the ruling on working in any field of politics?
Working in politics is not forbidden (); rather, it is a communal obligation (fard kifayah) and may even become an individual obligation (fard ayn) for some. -compliant politics means managing the affairs of the people according to religion, and it is obligatory to preserve the interests of Muslims. Al-Mawardi stated that the Imamate is established as a succession to prophethood in guarding religion and managing worldly affairs.
