Does resisting the desire to marry a second woman, with the intention of preserving the family's happiness, fall under forbidding what God has made lawful?

Polygyny is permissible for those who are confident in their ability to be just and do not fear committing injustice. However, whoever fears not being just, then he must stick to one wife. Resisting the desire to marry another woman is not forbidden, as long as one does not fear falling into the unlawful. In fact, one may be rewarded for it if he seeks recompense and shows patience to preserve his wife's feelings. It is not said of someone who abandons something permissible that he has forbidden what Allah has made lawful.
