Is it permissible to marry again while the first wife is still present, given that there is no desire towards the first wife and a fear of falling into sin?

We advise you to fear Allah regarding your righteous wife and to treat her kindly. It is desirable for you to marry another if you fear falling into the unlawful (haram), provided you adhere to the conditions of polygyny, such as justice and the like. We also advise you to be mindful of Allah and avoid forbidden relationships, for what is permissible (halal) is sufficient to keep one from what is forbidden (haram).
