Is it permissible to marry a second wife while the first wife is still married to him, despite his lack of love for her, because he was forced to marry her, even though she is righteous and of good conduct?

One should be kind to a committed wife of good character, for even if you dislike one of her traits, you will be pleased with another. This is in accordance with the Almighty's saying: "And live with them in kindness. For if you dislike them - perhaps you dislike a thing and Allah makes therein much good." It is permissible to marry a second, a third, or a fourth, based on the Almighty's saying: "Marry such women as seem good to you, two, or three, or four; but if you fear that you will not be able to deal justly (with them), then only one, or what your right hands possess. This is closer to preventing you from committing injustice."
