Is a married man's second marriage to a woman he loves—but whose family rejects him because he is already married—considered an injustice to his first wife, or not? And what should he do?

Spouses must live together honorably and with patience. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, warned against oppressing women and enjoined treating them kindly. Marrying a second wife is not considered an injustice to the first wife as long as you fulfill her rights and are just between the two wives, unless she stipulated in the marriage contract that you would not marry another.

It must be noted that acquaintance between non-mahram men and women for the purpose of marriage is a door to temptation and corruption, and marriage via the Internet is fraught with risks. Therefore, you must sever your relationship with that woman. If you are determined to marry her, then propose to her through her guardian.

Furthermore, lowering one's gaze from unlawful things strengthens a husband's contentment with his wife, while letting one's gaze roam freely among unlawful things diminishes his desire for her. To achieve love and marital understanding, patience and overlooking mistakes are necessary, as is focusing on the good aspects of the other party. Love is not the sole condition for the stability of married life; rather, good companionship and care are.
