Is it permissible to marry a second wife with the intention of divorcing her upon the arrival of the first wife?

Marriage with the concealed intention of divorce—without a condition stipulated in the contract—is valid according to the majority of scholars, in contrast to the Hanbalis' well-known position. It is preferable and more cautious not to intend divorce when the first wife is present. For marriage to become feasible, one must hold fast to Allah, avoid places of temptation, strive in fasting, and guard one's hearing and sight. We also emphasize that residing in non-Muslim lands entails significant risks to one's religion and morals, and one should strive to reside in Muslim lands whenever a path to do so is found.
