Is it true that the Prophet Moses (peace be upon him) cursed Pharaoh for 40 years?

The supplication of Moses and Aaron against Pharaoh and his people was answered after forty years, not that Moses continued to supplicate for forty years. This is what was reported by some exegetes and companions. The meaning is that the supplication is answered, but at its appointed time, as necessitated by God's wisdom. Therefore, the supplicant should not be hasty.
