Is it incumbent upon one who has had intercourse with his wife and performed ablution before sleeping, then wakes up, to perform ablution then ghusl, or to perform ghusl directly?

It is recommended for a person in a state of ritual impurity (junub) to perform ablution (wudu') if they intend to eat, drink, or sleep. Similarly, it is recommended for them to perform ablution before ghusl (ritual bath), following the example of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and because it facilitates ghusl and makes it more refined. However, if one proceeds directly to ghusl without performing ablution, their ghusl is valid, because ablution before ghusl is only recommended.
