Is prayer in the restroom acceptable or valid?

If a Muslim is prevented from praying at his workplace and is compelled to pray in the restroom, he must seek another job where he can perform his prayers. Praying in places designated for relieving oneself is considered invalid by many jurists because these places are prepared for impurities, and the remembrance of Allah within them is prohibited as a detestation of purification. There is no specific text prohibiting prayer therein, but Islamic law forbids speaking and remembering Allah in such places. Indeed, the prohibition of praying in restrooms and camel pens is well-known.
