What is the ruling on saying: "I create my own destiny"?

Belief in divine decree (Al-Qadar) is one of the pillars of faith, and it rests upon four matters: Allah's eternal knowledge of all that His creation will do, His inscription of the destinies of creatures in the Preserved Tablet (Al-Lawh Al-Mahfūẓ), that His will is dominant, and that He is the Creator of all things, including the actions of His servants. The servant has a will and choice, but it is subordinate to the will of Allah the Almighty. The saying "I make my own destiny," if it is intended to mean not submitting to Allah's decree or the ability to change it, then it is a delusion. However, if it is intended to mean that one has a will and choice and does not rely on the unknown while striving, then this is true, but the expression is incorrect and suggests a lack of belief in divine decree.
