The question

Should I ignore the sensation of passing wind during Wudu’ unless I hear a sound or smell an odor, and is it permissible for me to pray outside with the same Wudu’ if a woman’s fluid (vaginal discharge) exits, knowing that it nullifies Wudu’? What should I do when I feel a very small amount of fluid or have doubts about its presence? Is all of this from the whispers of Satan, especially since I fear the continuation of this suffering after marriage?

The answer

Allah is merciful to His servants, and Satan seeks to distress them through whispers (waswasah). To overcome waswasah:

1. Sincerely turn to Allah and supplicate to Him to remove the ailment.

2. Frequently recite the Qur’an and consistently observe remembrances (adhkar).

3. Seek refuge with Allah from Satan and turn away from his whispers, not believing them, for certainty is not removed by doubt.

4. Keep company with righteous people, attend gatherings of knowledge, and avoid isolation.

5. Consult scholars (mashayikh) and students of knowledge.

The cure for waswasah is to believe that it is a satanic thought and to fight against it. Saying "La ilaha illa Allah" (There is no god but Allah) expels Satan.
