How do we respond to those who criticize the noble Hadith: “Allah created the dust on Saturday… and created the light on Wednesday,” by raising the objection that trees need light, yet trees were created before light?

Firstly: The Hadith narrated by Muslim from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) regarding the creation of soil, mountains, trees, and other things during the days of the week has been deemed problematic by some scholars. They ruled that it is from the Isra'iliyyat (stories from Jewish and Christian traditions) and not an authentic Prophetic Hadith. Therefore, one should not preoccupy themselves with responding to the doubts of atheists concerning it, as long as its religious authenticity has not been established.

Secondly: Assuming the Hadith is authentic, the creation of trees on Monday does not contradict the creation of light on Wednesday, because Allah creates what He wills and is not bound by the laws of nature. He is Omnipotent, and His creation from nothing is proof of His absolute power. Miracles that defy the laws of nature have occurred, such as the creation of Adam from clay, Eve from Adam's rib, and Jesus from a mother without a father, and making fire cool and peaceful for Abraham. Furthermore, modern science cannot prove that the beginning of creation was subject to the laws we know, for Allah creates by His word "Be," and it is.
