What kind of dislike is referred to in the Hadith: "Indeed, Allah dislikes for you gossip and idle talk, and excessive questioning," and why?

The word "makrooh" (disliked/reprehensible) in the Hadith does not refer to the jurisprudential term for what is merely "disliked" (makrooh in fiqh), but rather to its linguistic meaning of hatred and lack of love. What is disliked by Allah is originally forbidden (haram), as stated in His Almighty saying: "All that – evil of it has been with your Lord disliked (makrooh)." The early Muslims (Salaf) used "karahah" (dislike) in its original meaning, while later scholars specialized it to refer to what is not forbidden.
