Is it permissible for a girl whose father and husband have passed away to refuse marriage, especially since she heard that a woman in Paradise will be with her last husband? And is it advisable to seek a job to avoid idleness and the whispers of Satan?

First: This world is a realm of trials, and Allah tests the believers in their wealth and souls. He has promised the patient a great reward without measure.

Second: Scholars have differed regarding a woman who marries more than one husband in this world as to whom she will belong in Paradise. The preponderant opinion is that she will be with her last husband.

Third: A Muslim woman's desire to marry someone better than her first husband is encouraged by Islamic law. This occurred with Umm Salamah, may Allah be pleased with her, when she recited the Prophetic supplication after her husband's death, and Allah replaced him for her with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him. Therefore, it is advisable to supplicate and believe in the existence of good.

Fourth: Marriage is a Prophetic Sunnah due to the great benefits it entails, such as seeking righteous offspring and protecting oneself from what is unlawful. Therefore, it is advisable to accept marriage from one whose religion and character are pleasing.

Fifth: The basic principle for a woman is to remain in her home, and going out to work can be an entryway for Satan. The most correct way to avoid boredom and emptiness is marriage and forming a righteous family, as a woman finds her happiness in her home with her husband and children.
