Which call to prayer (adhan) prohibits opening the shop on Friday after it: Is it the first adhan for Jumu’ah in the country, or the adhan for the Jumu’ah prayer that I will attend, or the adhan of the mosque closest to me?
Buying and selling after the second call to Friday prayer is forbidden, and the proof for its prohibition is the verse: "O you who have believed, when [the ] is called for the prayer on the day of Jumu'ah, then proceed to the remembrance of Allah and leave trade." Scholars have differed in determining the considered adhan: Is it the adhan of the first mosque, or the adhan of the mosque in which the person intends to pray? What is relied upon by the Hanbalis is to abstain from selling from the adhan of the first جامع (mosque performing Jumu'ah), while others hold that abstention is obligatory with the adhan of the mosque in which the worshiper intends to pray. The latter is what Sheikh Ibn Uthaymeen adopted. However, the more cautious approach is to act upon the first opinion, by refraining from buying and selling from the adhan of the first mosque.
