Is it permissible to adopt the view that allows for the removal of eyebrow hair by cutting or shaving, knowing that I am not married and no one sees me except my mahrams, and my desire is to avoid what is unlawful?

Scholars have differed regarding the prohibition of namṣ (plucking eyebrows), whether it is specific to plucking or includes any form of removal. The reason for this difference is their disagreement on the meaning of namṣ and the illah (underlying reason or effective cause) for its prohibition. Those who considered the illah to be deception and fraud permitted it with the husband's permission. However, those who considered the illah to be altering Allah's creation absolutely prohibited it, and this is the preferred (rajih) view.
