You must honor your father, treat him with kindness, and obey him in what is good. You should also advise him gently and respectfully regarding what is right and forbid him from what is wrong. There is no harm in disliking the sins and evil deeds your father commits, but a believer should have a heart full of mercy and compassion for sinners, and hope for their guidance. Blessed is he who honors his parents, especially in their old age.
