Should the copy of the chanted Qur’an be deleted from the device after returning the CD due to defects and getting a refund?

The ruling on deleting a copy of the Mus'haf from a device depends on the ruling on copying computer programs. If the owner of the program does not prohibit copying, then there is no harm in keeping the copy. However, if they do prohibit it, contemporary scholars have differed on the ruling of copying. The entity from which the purchase was made must be informed about keeping the copy. If they agree, whether for a fee or without, then it is permissible. Otherwise, it must be deleted.
