What should a young man do if his parents refuse his marriage to a girl of good character and faith, without giving logical reasons, knowing that he has spoken with his father and some relatives have intervened to solve the problem without success, and that his mother was aware of the relationship from the beginning?

Scholars have stipulated the obligation of obeying parents if they command one to refrain from marrying a specific woman, provided that there is a valid religious or customary justification for the prohibition, and that one does not fear falling into disobedience to Allah by leaving her. If the girl is religious and of good character, one should strive to convince them. If they insist on refusing, then perhaps there is good in letting her go. One must cut off any unlawful relationship with a foreign woman and repent to Allah.
