It is well known that a father generally feels compassion for his children, especially his daughters. It is surprising for a father to impose conditions that hinder his daughter's marriage to suitable suitors. If a suitable suitor proposes, the girl should try to convince her father, supplicate, and seek help from those who can soften her father's heart. The girl is not to appoint someone to act on behalf of her guardian. Rather, she should refer the matter to the competent authorities. If they confirm that her guardian is preventing her marriage, they should marry her off in his place.
