The disconnected Hadith is that from whose narrators a single narrator before the Companion is missing, from any point in the chain. It is a type of weak Hadith. If two or more narrators are missing, then it is a Mu'dal (perplexing) Hadith. As for the phrase "majority of scholars," its meaning varies according to the speaker's intent. It may refer to three of the four Imams, or to most scholars, including the four Imams and others.
