What is your opinion of one who gives more importance to the Sunnah than to the Fard (obligatory act) and sometimes neglects the Fard?

Neglecting the obligatory acts (Fara'id) in favor of the supererogatory acts (Sunan) is a grave mistake. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, narrated from Allah in a Qudsi Hadith: "My servant does not draw near to Me with anything more beloved to Me than what I have made obligatory upon him, and My servant continues to draw near to Me with supererogatory acts until I love him." This means that the obligatory acts are the most beloved deeds to Allah, because their command is firm and their abandonment incurs punishment. They are the origin and foundation of religion.
