Why do Muslims perform the Sunnah prayer before the Fard (obligatory) prayer, despite believing that Allah is above all else?

First: Dialogue with disbelievers on matters of Islamic law should be conducted by specialists, and the focus should be on the fundamentals of religion, such as Tawhid (monotheism), the Resurrection, and the prophethood of the Prophet (peace be upon him), rather than on minor issues, except for those known to genuinely seek the truth.

Second: The disbeliever's question is fallacious. The order of prayer is by Allah's command, and voluntary prayers (nawafil) and regular sunnah prayers (rawatib) have no relation to Allah being before everything. The Prophet (peace be upon him) is a servant of Allah and does not legislate except what Allah has commanded him to convey.

Third: The regular sunnah prayers (Sunan al-Rawatib) are twelve rak'ahs: two rak'ahs before Fajr, four before Dhuhr, two after Dhuhr, two after Maghrib, and two after Isha.

Fourth: The wisdom behind performing voluntary prayers before obligatory ones includes: 1. Completing the obligatory prayers and compensating for any deficiencies in them. 2. Earning Allah's love for the servant and emulating the Prophet (peace be upon him). 3. Preparing the worshipper to achieve presence of mind and humility in the obligatory prayer, as one good deed calls to another, making the heart more tranquil and present.
