Is the use of cosmetics, such as blush, permissible if alcohol is an ingredient, but has been transformed into a colored powder?
If a small amount of impurity is mixed with a large amount of a pure substance and is consumed within it without affecting its properties, then the entire mixture is not ruled to be impure. Similarly, if an impurity transforms into another substance that is completely different from its original form, it becomes pure. According to Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah, if an impurity is consumed in a liquid or transforms on its own, it becomes pure because it no longer exists in its original form. It has been previously noted that additive substances of impure or forbidden origin often transform into permissible substances when manufactured through transformation or consumption.
