If the husband has sought a fatwa from someone he trusts, and that person issued a fatwa stating that the divorce did not occur, then he has fulfilled what is required of him. This does not fall under the blameworthy seeking of dispensations. Therefore, the marital bond between you remains intact. Do not trouble yourself with researching or asking about the occurrence of divorce, and disregard all doubts. Moreover, if the wife did what her husband conditioned his divorce upon due to ignorance, forgetfulness, or misinterpretation, the divorce does not occur, according to the more preponderant opinion.
