ما هي حالات عِدَّة الرجل؟

A man is not required to observe an 'iddah (waiting period). He may marry immediately after separating from his wife, unless there is an impediment preventing him from combining certain women in marriage, such as his wife's sister or her paternal aunt. Alternatively, if he divorced his fourth wife and wishes to marry another, he must wait until the 'iddah of the fourth divorced wife has ended. This is by agreement among jurists in the case of a revocable divorce, and according to the Hanafis and Hanbalis in the case of an irrevocable divorce. As for the 'iddah, it is for the woman to ascertain the clearance of the womb, or as an act of worship, or to mourn her husband. It is not called an "'iddah" for a man, neither linguistically nor terminologically.
