What is to be done, and what is the religious view regarding matters of sorcery if a relative of mine is suffering from psychological problems and one of the shaykhs attributed the cause of that to an act of sorcery?

Magic has a real effect on the enchanted person, and efforts must be made to treat the enchanted person from it, due to the hadith: "Whoever among you can benefit his brother, let him do so," and the hadith: "Allah is helping the servant as long as the servant is helping his brother."
