What is the ruling on discussing matters of religion with a foreign female colleague, knowing that she asks, "Why does Allah resurrect us after death?"

1 min readAlso available in العربية

The followers of the divine religions have agreed that resurrection after death is for recompense for deeds, for the true life is in the Hereafter, and this world is a place of trial. Allah Almighty said: "Did you think that We had created you in play (without any purpose), and that you would not be brought back to Us?" (Al-Mu'minun: 115-116). Were there no resurrection, corruption would prevail, and the oppressor would not receive his punishment. And refraining from discussing religious matters with women is required to avert temptation, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "I have not left behind me any temptation more harmful to men than women."
