Is it permissible to leave the mosque to instruct a non-Muslim in the Two Testimonies during the Friday sermon?

It is impermissible to leave the mosque during the sermon (khutbah (definition)) except for an urgent necessity, such as saving a life or extinguishing a fire. However, leaving to teach a disbeliever the two declarations of faith (Shahadatayn) takes precedence, as the benefit of a person embracing Islam and desiring it outweighs the benefit of listening to the sermon. Jurists have stated that offering Islam to one who desires it is an immediate obligation, and one may be sinful by delaying it; indeed, some have gone as far as to consider it an act of disbelief to do so. It is reported in Sahih (definition) Muslim that the Prophet (peace be upon him) interrupted his sermon to teach a stranger who came asking about his religion, which indicates the priority of taking the initiative to teach someone who wishes to embrace Islam. Leaving the sermon to teach the Shahadatayn is permissible if it is necessary for the one attending Jumu'ah to do so.
