If studying at the university does not expose one to forbidden intermingling (ikhtilat) or unlawful private seclusion (), then there is no harm in it, as seeking beneficial knowledge is not prohibited for women. However, riding alone in a car with a driver is an unlawful private seclusion (khalwa), and likewise, riding in a mixed-gender bus next to a foreign man in close proximity is not permissible. A woman driving her own car is preferable to all of that, provided she observes the শরিয়াহ-compliant regulations.
